When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world. I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation. When I found I couldn't change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn't change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family. Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.

You have as much of God as you want. God does not force himslf on us but avails himself to what ever level we desire.

God has promised not to keep us from the valleys, but to walk through them with us.

He has promised us not the absence of problems, but the guarantee of His presence.

We have a choice: either we will be conformed to this world, or we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds. It is one or the other. The only question is, which way will you go?

How do you react when you're snubbed or mistreated? It's best not to lash out but instead leave the matter in God's hands. Someone once wrote: When you are quick to fight your own battles, Jesus steps aside and gives you the job." But if we refuse to retaliate, God will intervene on our behalf.

All the things in this world are gifts and signs of God's love for us. The whole world is a gift from God.

God never promised us light loads. In fact, sometimes the loads are very, very heavy. The weight of life sometimes stoops our shoulders, slows our steps, and robs our sleep. God does not promise to insulate us from burdens and exempt us from sorrow. What God does promise us, though, is to always be with us, to always be for us, and to always wring whatever good can be wrung from life's heaviest burdens and roughest trials.

God Wants Us To Be H. U. M. B. L. E. !

"H" is for the HUMILITY to acknowledge we are sinners in need of a Savior. Jesus Christ is his name!

"U" is for UNITY. He wants us to be united as brothers and sisters in love. He wants us to "bear with one another lovingly" (Eph 4:1). We must "bear with one another" because we are sinners with the strengths and weaknesses that come with being human.

"M" is for MISSION. We must understand His mission for us as a Church community and as individuals in the Body of Christ. We must continuously seek God's will in our lives and then DO IT! ("When all is said and done, more is said than done!")

"B" is for BOLDNESS. We must be bold in sharing God's love with others. We must be willing to take the risk of being rejected. Rejection will happen to us just as it happened to Jesus. We never know how the Holy Spirit may be using us to plant seeds in another person's life even though we may initially experience rejection. Be BOLD for Jesus!

"L" is for LOVE. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. P.S. - Don't forget to love yourself. God made you in his image.

"E" is for EVANGELIZE! It is the mission of the Church and everyone in it. Tell the world and those around you that God loves them, that Jesus loves them so much that he died on the cross for them and that he sent the Holy Spirit to purify us, to make us holy and to empower us to carry out his mission for us with charisma!

Humility, Unity, Mission, Boldness, Love, Evangelize

Our strength lies in spiritual concepts. It lies in public sensitiveness to evil. Our greatest danger is not from invasion by foreign armies. Our dangers are that we may commit suicide from within by complaisance with evil, or by public tolerance of scandalous behavior.

As a Christian I am to be concerned for the best person, the worst person, the first person, the last person, the least person and the lost person on earth that they might be saved.

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death -- even death on a cross!"

Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it and not the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.

The Gospel is not something we come to church to hear; it is something we go from church to tell.

I believe with all my heart that standing up for America means standing up for the God who has so blessed our land. We need God's help to guide our nation through stormy seas. But we can't expect Him to protect America in a crisis if we just leave Him over on the shelf in our day-to-day living.

In 1993, 33 year old professional golfer Paul Azinger was diagnosed with lymphoma in the right shoulder blade. He wrote, "A genuine feeling of fear came over me. I could die from cancer. Then another reality hit me even harder. I'm going to die eventually, whether from cancer or something else. It's just a question of when. Everything I had accomplished in golf became meaningless to me. All I wanted to do was live."

Then he remembered something that Larry Moody, who teaches Bible study on the tour, had said to him. "Zinger, we're not in the land of the living going to the land of the dying. We're in the land of the dying trying to get to the land of the living."

Golfer Paul Azinger recovered from chemotherapy and successfully returned to the PGA tour. His bout with cancer has deepened his perspective and he wrote: "I've made a lot of money since I've been on the tour, and I've won a lot of tournaments, but that happiness is only temporary. The only way you will ever have true contentment is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I'm not saying that nothing ever bother me and I don't have problems, but I feel like I've found the answer to the six foot hole."

This life on earth is short and fleeting. Eternal life resides in the person of Jesus Christ. Today, in prayer, praise the Lord for victory over death and that we have eternal life in Him.
