Weekend Masses

Parish Registration

New families are asked to call the parish office as soon as possible for registration procedures.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Saturday 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. or by appointment.

Baptism

Parental baptismal prep instruction (Pre-Jordan) is a prerequisite for baptism at St. Cecilia church. Parents must be active, registered parishioners for at least 6 months before baptisms are celebrated. Pre-Jordan classes are held every three months. Call the parish office (618) 288-3200 to register. Baptismal Liturgies are celebrated the last weekend of every month on a rotating basis. No baptisms are done during Lent. Confirmation

Preparation for Confirmation will begin with children who are in third grade or older and completed in fourth grade or older. The content for grade 8 in PSR and SJN focuses on Church. Becoming Church is another text that is integrated with the PSR and SJN religion text. Preparation begins with registration, parent meetings, and enrollment. It concludes with retreat, interview, and the RITE. Check the sacraments page for information on currently scheduled events.

Eucharist

Preparation begins in Grade 2 or older. Check the sacraments page for information on currently scheduled events.

Reconciliation

Parent meetings are attended when your child is in first grade and then parents decide when their child is ready to receive Reconciliation. A textbook is given at this time so that families might prepare their child for this sacrament. The U.S. Bishops suggest that young children should be attending communal penance services to become familiar with the sacrament and then receive the sacrament at one of these services when they are ready. Children's Liturgy

A younger group, Liturgy of the Word with Children - Pre School and Kindergarten (LWC PS-K), has been formed. This dismissal will be at the 11:00 a.m. Mass only. Liturgy of the Word with Children (LWC) is for elementary grades 1-4 and has dismissal at all the weekend Masses.

Marriages

Twelve month notice for all marriages and compliance with diocesan and parish guidelines.

Youth Mass

Youth mass will be held at 11:00am on the first Sunday of every month.
